This reminds me of when I was a new mom in my twenties. We lived across the street from a golf course in Miami and I liked walking the 4 miles around it everyday with my baby in the stroller. One day, one of my older neighbors (60's), that I didn't really know, and his wife asked me if the husband could join me in my daily walks. I said sure but found it a tiny bit strange. We become close friends (walked a couple years together) and they really enjoyed my daughter. Come to find out, from the wife, many years later that they didn't feel like it was safe for me to be out there on my own. He carried a concealed gun to protect me. I never had a clue that he was armed and ready. I guess some men have a very protective side. Nothing ever happened but my husband was out jogging one night and a group of teenagers drove by and shot at him. He wasn't hit but that was the end of night jogging. By the way...it was a very nice golf course community but I guess you never know. Re: Armed churchgoers kill guy that pulled out a shotgun during service and kille...
Dumb luck streak going on twenty years. Follow at your own risk ;O)
" People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."
